Use the Copy Balances to Budgets activity to copy ledger balances to account budget or plan amounts in a different fiscal year. This activity generates budget and plan records for all account-unit code combinations of posted ledger transactions for the selected fiscal year.
You might run this program as part of your year-end procedure. You can copy amounts into either the budget or plan column, allowing for easy comparison of the budget with last year's figures.
If you select the Liability and Owner's Equity account types, the balance is multiplied by -1 when you select the Process button.
