Employee Prefix

On the Payroll Parameters form, enter the default prefix to be used with employee numbers.

EXAMPLE: If you enter UX in the Employee Prefix field, the default employee numbers generated by the system are UX00001, UX00002, UX00003, and so forth. If you do not enter a value in the Employee Prefix field, the default employee numbers generated by the system are 1, 2, 3, and so forth.

A prefix can consist of numeric and non-numeric (letters and symbols) characters. However, the prefix should end with an alphabetic character to ensure that the system increments employee numbers correctly.

When a prefix is added, this prefix will not affect any existing employee numbers. Also, when entering employee numbers in the system, you may overwrite this prefix.
