Production Schedules

Use production schedules to manufacture standard products on a regular schedule and do not require precise tracking or reporting. Production schedules allow you to charge costs to a work center rather than to a specific job order.

Within SyteLine, production schedules are synonymous with work-orderless, or rate-based, manufacturing. This method of manufacturing allows more flexibility in making schedule changes, makes it easier to establish and maintain production plans, and reduces paperwork and system transactions.

NOTES: Production schedules do not support co-product jobs.

For production schedules to be scheduled, you must select the Schedule Production Schedules option on the Shop Floor Control Parameters form before running the Scheduling activity.

Reporting

Production schedules do not require actual labor and material tracking. Instead, after opening a production schedule, you report only Item and Quantity. The system can backflush labor, materials, and overhead costs based on the standard routing. Or you can manually report labor, material, and overhead to a work center. When you backflush materials through a Production Schedule, they are backflushed to the Work Center. Use the Work Center Material Transactions form to issue lot- or serial number-tracked materials to a Work Center for a Production Schedule Item.
