Tracking Serialized Materials
You can track serial numbers used in jobs through multiple job levels.
You can track in either direction:
	- Backward, to determine which serialized items make up a final serialized
	 item.
- Forward, to determine which item a serialized item ultimately ends
	 up in.
Notes
	- In order to track serial numbers for an item in a job beyond the
	 first level, the Preassign Serials
option must be set for the item.
- If a serial number has a source or destination that is a transfer
order, then visibility of the serial number in this site ends at the
transfer order. To further track the serial number, go to the transfer
site and continue tracking there. See About
Multi-Site Transfer Order Serial Number Tracking.
Using the Serial Numbers Form
To track serial numbers:
	- On the Serial Numbers form,
specify the item and serial number to track.
- Select the Serial Source tab. The tab displays the root node of
	 a tree.
- Click on nodes to expand the information. The tree initially shows
the source transaction of the serial/item. If that transaction is
a job, the tree includes additional nodes for any serial/item materials
in that job, as well as nodes for the source of those serial/items.
If there are transactions in any nodes that do not contain a serial
number, but contain a lot number, the node shows the source information
	 for the lot.
- Continue through the nodes until there are no more job sources,
or job sources with serial and/or lot item materials.
Using the Serial Numbers Report
To track serial numbers:
	- On the Serial Numbers Report
form, specify the range of items and serials numbers to include.
- In the Display Source field,
	 specify:

		- Summary to show only
		 the immediate source transaction.
- Detail to show the
detail of source jobs, where those jobs contain serial items that
themselves have a source. Additional levels are indented on the
		 report.

- In the Display Destination
	 field, specify:

		- Summary to show only
		 the immediate destination transaction.
- Detail to show the
detail of destination jobs, where these jobs contain serial items
that themselves have a destination. Additional levels are indented.

- Click Print.
