Print Industry Data Setup

Before you can begin creating estimates for print jobs, you must first input the data by which you will create your quotes.

  1. Specify Printing Industry Parameters. These specifications will establish the default paper consumption values when you create new estimate job operations for a printing job.
  2. Set up operation types and type codes, which refer to work centers and tasks assigned to those work centers, on the Operation Types and Operation Type Codes forms. See Setting Up Operation Types and Codes for more detail.
  3. Define the materials that will be consumed during production on the Material Classes form.
  4. Specify the different types of paper used during production on the Paper Codes form.
  5. Establish a cross-reference between the materials and the operation type codes on the Operation Type Code Materials form.
  6. Define set up and run times for each combination of operation type code and material class on the Operation Type Code Times form. On this form, paper codes may be selected as a material class.
