Creating Lot Tracked Inventory Items
For an inventory item to use the system's lot-tracking
capabilities, on the Items or Multi-Site
Items form, the Lot Track check box must be selected at the
 individual inventory item level.
Inventory items can be both lot-tracked and serial-tracked.
To create a lot-tracked inventory item:
	- Open the Items or Multi-Site Items form.
- Select the Controls tab.
- Enter the appropriate data in the required fields for lot-tracking:

		- Lot Track - Select this check
box if the inventory item is to be lot-tracked.
- Issue By - Accept the default,
		 which is Lot.
 Optional fields include:
		- Preassign Lots - Allow the
creation of lot numbers for this inventory item before the item
is received or used in a job. See Preassigning
		 Lot Numbers for more information.
- Lot Prefix - Specify a lot
prefix for this inventory item. You can specify a default here
		 or use intelligent lot
		 numbers.
- Backflush - If this inventory
item can be backflushed, select this check box.
- Reservable - If this inventory
item can be reserved, select this check box.
- Shelf Life - Enter a value
in days for how long a lot can stay in inventory before it expires.

- Select Actions > Save.
NOTE: When receiving
or creating inventory, all lot-tracked items must be assigned a lot. Inventory
can be assigned to either an existing lot or a new lot. Lots can be created
by preassigning them, by performing any inventory transaction or by adding
the new lot using the Lots form.
